Katarzyna Kapuścińska is a fashion design student, travelling between Warsaw, Łódź and her hometown, Białystok, located in North-Eastern Poland. Her interest in photography has always been strong, although only recently she found herself behind the camera.
“I visited the Polish Academy of Sciences Botanical Garden and the University of Warsaw Botanical Garden last spring. I've always found joy and inspiration in surrounding myself with nature. The idea of collecting plants and organising them has always been fascinating to me. The semi-natural environment where everything is labelled makes you feel like you're inside a giant anatomy book. The juxtaposition between the natural and the man-made creates a subtle yet visually powerful structure, in which the observer is as important as the specimen.”
