Niccolò Valcavi is a product designer based in Milan, Italy. After graduating from the Politecnico di Milano in 2012, Niccolò started working on the development of a number of projects, of which this collection of vases is his first self-produced work.
The Fucina collection of vases is made from wood fired stoneware and borosilicate glass rods. All vases are hand thrown in Italy by skilled ceramist Robert Cross and subsequently wood fired at a temperature of 1500°C for around 24 hours. The resulting pieces present variations of colours and intensity derived from the ashes depositing on the surface and vitrifying during the entire firing process.
Fucina #3 comes with 4 glass rods, a stoneware base and neck.
