Richard Orjis is a New Zealand based multimedia artist, utilising photography, paint, sculpture, performance and land art practices. Orjis has studied at Elam School of Fine Arts, University of Auckland and the School of Art, Carnegie Melon University. His work has been exhibited and published throughout Europe and North America.
Kauri is part of a series produced especially for The Garden Edit. Orjis states: “The mighty New Zealand Kauri produces a steady flow of resin from its bark and leaves that resemble tear like drops. This gum helps protect the tree by filling damaged areas from the risk of attack and infection”.
