Matthias Kaiser is an Austrian potter who uses unrefined materials for his ceramics and often exposes the process of making to give pieces a raw quality. Kaiser studied at Parsons School of Design and the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and has completed apprenticeships with master potters in Japan.
This piece has a side drainage hole with inbuilt saucer. It was commissioned by The Garden Edit for the exhibition Pot Plant, as part of the 2016 London Design Festival.
